Feel the Health

Starting med school, I was 45 lbs down, extremely active, and I loved the feeling of being healthy, it's amazing how quickly that can change in a blink of an eye. So I'm here to give you some pointers I wished someone told me when I started to have a busy schedule. Just a quick note, this blog post is not about losing weight, just about being healthy.

1. The Lunchbox

Yes I know, food is soo good, I don't know what it is, because it really speaks sweet nothings to my soul, but I need to be more mindful of what is entering into my body. To prevent the junk from entering,

here are a few things I've tried to make sure I was at least putting some vegetables in.

Intermittent Fasting

The goal of this idea was to only eat during a period of time. That could be for 5 hr, 8hr, or even 12 hrs, it honestly depends on you. The rest of the time outside of your eating hours, you will be fasting.

Pros:

1. It felt as if I had more time in the day, which allowed me to get a more work done.

2. I felt more in control of my eating patterns

Cons:

1. Not a fan of feeling hungry

2. My eating period changed so often, because of events with friends that required eating

Meal Prepping

The goal for this idea was to make all of your meals for the week in one day, packaged them up and store it away in the appropriate place. When it's time to pack a lunch or have a meal, presto, your meal is already made.

Pros:

1. Quick and easy when getting ready for the day

2. all you're cooking is done for week.

Cons:

1. You must give a dedicated time for meal prepping or you'll wont have meals for the week

2. Don't try new things that you don't know if you will like

2. Do I want to Sweat?

Moving the body so you can build a sweat is great, however, it can be hard to fit it within your day. Here are some things I've tried

HIIT High Intensity Interval training is great if you want a quick work out, build a sweat, and challenge yourself. You're literally giving 100% during quick burst of intense workout, so it will defiantly challenge you physically and mentally

pros:

1. Quick workouts

2. Could see results in your strength

cons:

1. It is a challenge, but you have to be patient with yourself

2. If its with a group, or by yourself just remember to just do it...thank you nike

A Group Activity

Whenever you can hang out with your friends and go on adventure, try to attend. Going on hikes, paddle boarding, or even just swimming is great way to get some activity in during the week.

Pros:

1. Its chill and fun because you're with your friends

2. There's more room to adventurous with what you can do physically.

Cons:

1. it can be hard to plan with everyone's busy schedule

2. its hard to be consistent

Final Thoughts:

I know I put my health on the back burner especially when I'm busy, so don't feel bad if you do so, but let me leave this for you...

A friend came up to me and said "being healthy should be as important as brushing your teeth, your health is important too."

Our health is important too, don't forget.

Try to feel the health today :]

We hope this help!
